VALULOID a film production company based in the UK. Taking inspiration from the stories and mythology of previous generations, VALULOID aims to tell stories that offer timeless and meaningful values to its audience, by re-enchanting the world through the lens of cinema.
VALULOID’s first film was ‘La Belle Dame Sans Merci’ inspired by the poem by John Keats of the same name, starring Morgan Holgate and Maribel James-Corral and directed by Michael Velykorodnyy. A classic story of a femme fatal and unrequited love, set in a mysterious hybrid of fantasy and reality. The film was produced with the intention of creating a visual aid to a poem for students studying it in school, while maintaining its multi-interpretational elements, commonly associated with poetry.
ABOUT MICHAEL VELYKORODNYY
Michael Velykorodnyy is a British filmmaker who Produced and Directed “La Belle Dame Sans Merci” (2025). He graduated from the BFI Film Academy in 2022 and found his passion working in theatre and live production, as a camera operator and film producer before creating VALULOID as way of conveying unique and important values through the use of filmmaking.
